Fatso Jetson/del-Toros split

by del-Toros

/
  • Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Two exclusive tracks documented in a three color variation with landscape artwork done by Jack C. Gregory Illustration.

    - Black
    - Clear blue
    - Clear gold

One time pressing, once they're gone...they're gone.

"Since both tracks are instrumental — those samples notwithstanding — the 11-minute outing feels like it’s over even quicker than that, but each band uses their time wisely in the pursuit of their own brand of heavy rock, and if nothing else, the release reminds of how close the desert and the ocean’s waves can sometimes feel." - The Obelisk

"The sun and moon play heavily intertwining roles on this little split that will go tragically unnoticed. I say tragic because this is a doozy of an instrumental album, but while most people are looking to rock-heavy, anthemic songs for inspiration, rarely is that in the form of instrumental dirges that originate from the more desert rock side of things. Which is bullshit, because if there's one thing that desert rock is capable of, it's holding up its own without the need for vocal work: the guitars and drums do more than enough, thank you very much. And nowhere is that clearer than on this record." - Pure Grain Audio

"Bond’s adversary, Le Chiffre, may have gambled and lost, but both Fatso Jetson and del-Toros won big with this epic release." - Razorcake Magazine

From Palm Desert, CA, Fatso Jetson sonically exhibits Sabbath like heaviness, hardcore punk, jazz melodies and reverb soaked surf tone from the tools of their trade. Forming in the 1990’s, they have been documented and released by SST, Man’s Ruin, Bongload Custom, Cobraside and international heavy dealers Go Down & Heavy Psych Sounds. Fatso Jetson has toured the United States and Europe with Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, The Atomic Bitchwax & Yawning Man along with invites to play domestic and international festivals: SXSW, Stoned From The Underground, Roadburn, and Desertfests throughout Europe.

From North Holland, del-Toros created their sound by taking cues from punk, stoner rock and adding a dose of surf guitar in the mix. If they were around at the time, they would have been the ideal candidates to compose the soundtrack to Russ Meyer’s "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill Kill!" Since forming in 2008, they have releases on European labels Undertow Recordings and Lighttown Fidelity; this split will be their US debut. del – Toros have toured throughout the Netherlands and into Scandinavia, performing alongside Peter Pan Speedrock, Honky and The Turbo A.C’s.
